My connection to nature, the forest and therefore to wood was practically instilled in me from birth.

I was born and raised in the Odenwald region, near the Rodenstein ruins. My grandfather was passionate about working with wood, and my father is also a trained wood turner.

I have lived in Darmstadt for 47 years, trained as an electronics technician, and now primarily focus on the art and the over 4000-year-old craft of woodturning.

Inspired by English and American woodturners, I use the fascinating organic material of wood as my primary medium. The result is functional, artistic, and sculptural wooden objects, some left natural and others painted.

I am a registered member of the AAW, American Association of Woodturners, and of the

AWGB - The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain and the German Woodturners.
